PharmaHeal is a platform providing AI-supported medical information, bridging the gap between healthcare providers, patients and information systems.

I am Tevin Echessa, a third-year medical student passionate about public health, medical technology, and improving access to reliable health information for underserved communities. My drive to develop solutions that bridge the gap between healthcare providers, patients, and information systems guided my decision to join the DREAM program. I entered DREAM to advance PharmaHeal, my platform providing AI-supported medical information, with the goal of refining the idea and exploring how technology can improve healthcare access. A transformative moment came during a mentorship session on human-centered design, where I learned the importance of understanding community needs and contexts when building solutions. This experience challenged me to approach problem-solving with empathy and inclusivity, reshaping my perspective on innovation. Throughout the program, I gained skills in communication, pitching ideas, embracing feedback, and developing resilience, adaptability, and critical thinking: lessons that will stay with me well beyond DREAM. The DREAM community was invaluable, offering mentorship, collaboration, and meaningful connections that enriched my growth. Engaging with peers and mentors fostered teamwork, leadership, and broadened my perspective. Although I did not achieve the outcome I initially hoped for, DREAM strengthened my commitment to healthcare innovation and inspired me to continue refining my ideas with focus and determination. I leave the program with renewed clarity, a deeper appreciation for iterative growth, and excitement to return stronger in future opportunities.
